Hi Everyone
Today the team and I are heading to the Otago Rally, a qualifying round of the 2024 FIA Asia Pacific Rally Championship. The event is based in Dunedin with the ceremonial start Friday evening, followed by 275km of stages on Saturday and Sunday. Without a doubt, they are the best rally roads in the world - fast-flowing and with lots of crests to test your notes and commitment, check out this video footage from 2021!
Like any sport, you need to practice and train. Over the past month, the team and I have had a good build-up with a hill climb, rally sprint, and a test day to prepare the car and get some much-needed seat time.
The Toyota Yaris AP4 will be on display at Cooke Howlison Toyota showrooms in Dunedin on Thursday, while Amy and I will be out on the stages doing our recce of the stages in a Toyota Hilux supplied by Cooke Howlison.
Below is the artwork for a poster we will hand out during the opening ceremony. If you're in Dunedin on the 12th April, come down to the Octagon around 5pm - you won't miss it, there'll be over 120 rally cars lined up and a big crowd of spectators.
